Mr. Geo. Carter and Miss Lizzie McLain were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. McLain, in Scott township Wednesday Oct. 4, Rev. C.S. McElhinny officiating. The above announcement records an event that unites the lives of two of Poweshiek's most worthy young people. Mr. Carter is a prosperous young farmer. He is frugal and indusrious and possesses the best traits of a noble manhood. The young lady interested in the happy event is in every way worthy the young man she has chosen. She posseses all those womanly graces that make home the dearest, brightest place on earth. She is justly popular among all those who know and admire her excellent qualities.
