BROOKLYN BOY BADLY INJURED WHILE COASTING

Harvey Caddell, Jr., 8 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Caddell was seriously injured Monday afternoon when a truck driven by Ernest Mitchell struck his sled as he was coasting.

One of the sled runners punctured the boy's side and he also suffered several lacrations about his leg.

The accident occurred about 5 p.m. Monday in front of the Claude Keeney home where some children were coasting in the street.

Mitchell saw the children and tried to avoid striking them. Although he was attempting to get through without injuring anyone the truck apparently struck the sled of the Caddell boy.

Harvey was taken to the home of his parents nearby where he is getting along quite well, considering the seriousness of his injuries.

He is in the second grade in school.

Caddell is employed on the Roscoe Ormiston farm.--Brooklyn Chronicle.
