DINNER GIVEN FOR ED THOMPSON, SR.

Ed Thompson, Sr., who celebrated his 70th birthday June 10, was honored at a fried chicken dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Beeler, who entertained a group of relatives. The meal, served cafeteria style, included plenty of ice cream and a lovely birthday cake, baked and decorated by Mrs. Fred Thompson of New Sharon.

Mr. Thompson has been in poor health for some time, suffering from heart trouble, and is just now able to be up and about the house. Consequently, the occasion was arranged rather quietly.

Sharing the pleasant occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Manson and Mrs. Charles Fawcett of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson, Max, Betty and Jerry, of New Sharon; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Goreham of Malcom; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson and Alfred of Blue Point; the honored guest and Mrs. Thompson, the host and hostess and their two children, Lyle and Doris.
