JOHNSON-GERARD

Miss Irene Gerard the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Gerard, and Mr. Robert Johnson, both of Ottumwa, Iowa, were married Sunday, June 28th, at the home of the bride's parents in Grinnell. The bride's brother, Carl O. Gerard, of Woodburn, officiated. The bride was beautifully attired in white satin and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and ferns, the groom in a suit of midnight blue. Promptly at twelve o'clock the bride and groom descended to the parlor while Mrs. Leo Farley played the Lohengrin Wedding March. Mrs. Farley, Miss Gailie Johnson and Mrs. Clyde Cochran sang very beautifully "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."

After the ceremony a two-course dinner was served. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson and two daughters of Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cochran of Searsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Arthur of Searsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Farley of Grinnell, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gerard of New Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Gerard, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gerard of Woodburn, Miss Eva Bergstrom of Ottumwa, Mr. Dan Baker of Sigourney. After the first of July they will be at home at Ottumwa, Iowa.
