GRANDDAUGHTER OF NELSE KELLER SWALLOWED PENNY

Nelse Keller, auditor, whose son, Jack, is working on a defense plant at Corpus Christi, Texas, received a letter from him, telling of an accident which nearly proved fatal to the three year old daughter. She swallowed a penny and Jack with his wife, started for the hospital at a speed not within the law. They were halted by a policeman, who wanted an explanation. When he was convinced that all was as it should be, the policeman mounted his motorcycle, opened up the siren and the party rushed even faster to the hospital under his escort.

On arriving there, no specialist as present and it was three hours before the doctor came to remove the penny. The little lady is now well and happy and probably will not swallow another penny.--Montezuma Republican.
