SUGGS ACQUITTED ON MANSLAUGHT'R CHARGE

As "flashed" last week to most of the Republican readers, Frank Suggs, Des Moines colored lad, charged with manslaughter, was freed by the disrict court jury, late Wednesday evening. He had been accused of killing Warren Binegar, Grinnell policeman in a car accident last August.

Suggs had been held in the county jail, following his indictment. He, with his foster mother, returned at once to Des Moines following the verdict.

Suggs was represented by Vincent Johnson and Norman McFarlin who had been appointed by the judge. Lawrence Pedersen, county attorney, appeared for the state. All attorneys in the trial had given much time and work to the case. Suggs, when on the stand did very well for himself.

Mrs. T.C. Ross was the ladies' bailiff during the trial, which opened Monday. She is filling in for Mrs. A.E. Pollard who did not feel equal to the task.
