PEGGY SMITH AND JOHN HARTER WED SECRETLY MARCH 7

Announcement has been made of the secret marriage of Miss Peggy Arlene Smith, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, and John Junior Harter, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Harter.

The wedding took place at 6:30 o'clock Sunday evening, March 7, in Unionville, Mo. The Rev. Hines, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated at the single ring ceremony in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Beeler of Grinnell, brother-in-law and sister-in-law of the bridegroom.

The bride wore a white street length dress trimmed with gold and white accessories. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls.

Mrs. Harter is a graduate of the Grinnell high school and the Thompson Beauty school in Des Moines. She is now employed in the Maytag Beauty shop in Newton.

Mr. Harter served in the Navy for three years, and is now employed on a farm south of Grinnell.
