DINNER HONORS WILL NUTTING
Will Nutting was guest of honor at a dinner Wednesday evening given by the post office staff in observance of the expiration of his services as a Grinnell rural mail carrier. Mr. Nutting has just completed the required number of years' work to receive his retirement notice. Covers were arranged for 43 guests at the fried chicken repast, prepared and served by the Lutheran ladies at the Elm street church, and was all that could be desired in the way of a delectable meal. The evening hours were spent socially at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Jacobs. As a suggestion on how to spend a few leisure hours, Mr. Nutting was presented with a fishing rod, a gift from the group.
Sharing the occasion were Mr. Nutting and his daughter, Mildred, a special guest, Postmaster and Mrs. Wilford Smiley and daughter, Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Walter, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pugh, Mrs. Will Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kimball, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mintle, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Myers, Glenn Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kennedy, Clifford Benton, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Case, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McIlrath, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Evans and son, Donovan, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Neely, Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Peters, Mr. and Mrs. H.P.
