SKUNK BITES MRS. JOHN STANLEY; HAD RABIES

There are lots of skunk stories, but when a skunk bites someone--that's news!

Mrs. John Stanley of three miles south of Grinnell was quietly sitting on the steps of the front porch of her home Tuesday, when a skunk sneaked up and bit her, not once, but twice. Don Phipps, a friend of the family, stopped the attack by killing the skunk with a club.

The skunk was sent to Iowa City, where the report was that the skunk had rabies. Mrs. Stanley was given the proper shots to prevent any ill effects from the bites.
