AMBROSE JENKINS AND HIS GIFT

The gift of $15,000 to the Community Hospital by Ambrose Jenkins is one worthy of special notice. Mr. Jenkins is a Grinnell man. He was born in the north edge of Washington township on the old Nehemiah Jenkins home farm. The larger part of his life has been spent in Grinnell township and Grinnell city. He comes of one of the earlier families in this vicinity and has always been thrifty and upright. This gift was without solicitation. He had spent several months in the hospital a few years ago and felt the need of these institutions for the suffering. Mr. Jenkins is a clean and upright citizen and is deserving of special credit and honor for his meritorius gift.
