LITTLE GIRL SETS CLOTHING ON FIRE--IS BADLY BURNED
The Montezuma Palladium says:
Coleen Thompson, the four year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson who reside west of town, had a close call a few days ago. As it is she suffers much from numerous burns.
The little child was upstairs and while alone attempted to light a match. In her effort she was successful, the blaze setting her clothing on fire. Hearing the screams of the child the mother rushed upstairs and quickly smothered the flames that were enveloping her daughter. The little one was very badly burned on the left side of her leg, body and arm. A doctor was quickly summoned who soon eased the girl's suffering and she is now getting along nicely.
