BOY SEES ROBIN!

A Grinnell youngster reported this week that he saw a robin in his back yard..."and a nice fat one, too!" he added.

The youngster viewing the robin was Billy Mendoza, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guillermo Mendoza, a fourth grader at Cooper School.

Billy spotted the robin Tuesday morning. Since he lives next door to Max Thompson of the Herald-Register, he decided that the best and quickest method of conveying the information was to notify his neighbor.

Billy's approach to his "big story" was to say: "I understand that you want stories from people who saw robins, and I saw one and he was a nice fat one, too!"
