Pierce-Hanson Marriage

MR. AND MRS. ROBERT PIERCE

Miss Roberta Mae Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Hanson of Grinnell and Robert E. Pierce, son of Mrs. Ray Rivers of Grinnell and Marshall Pierce of Kellogg were married Friday evening, June 27, at 8 p.m. in St. John Lutheran church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. G.C. Wiegand, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, Malcom.

For her wedding the bride chose a light green suit with which she wore a white hat and shoes. Her corsage was white carnations.

Mrs. James O'Brien as matron of honor wore a gray and yellow checked suit with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

Attending the groom was James O'Brien.

Mrs. Hanson, the bride's mother, wore an aqua dress with white accessories and a pink carnation corsage.

The couple left on a weekend trip to Des Moines after the ceremony and are now at home in Grinnell.

Mrs. Pierce attended Grinnell high school and was graduated in 1950. She also attended A.I.B. in Des Moines and received a diploma from the advanced secretarial course there in December of 1951. She is now employed in the office of the Congregational Christian Conference of Iowa on the college campus.

Her husband also attended Grinnell high school and was graduated with the class of 1951. He is employed at the Queen and Olson Furniture store.

Guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Brown, Mrs. Dick Crawford, Miss Dorothy Brandt, Miss Betty Pierce, Miss Nadine Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Hanson and Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Hanson Jr. and Cynthia, of Pella, Marshall Pierce of Kellogg, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wollam of Ladora.
