HOCKETT-OHLAND

A wedding of much interest to Grinnell people took place Jan. 27 in Geneseo, Ill., when Miss Lenora Marie Hockett, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Hockett of this city, became the bride of John C. Ohland, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ohland of Malcom. The wedding took place at 5:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian parsonage with Rev. Willis E. Hogg, pastor of the church, performing the impressive single ring ceremony.

The bride wore a beautiful gown of green silk crepe, trimmed in white satin and carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses. Following the ceremony the bride and groom went to Rock Island and Davenport for a short wedding trip.

Mrs. Ohland is a fine young lady with a pleasing personality. She is well known in this city, having attended the Grinnell public schools and graduated from Grinnell high school in the class of 1924. She later entered nurses' training and graduated from the Grinnell Community hospital in the class of 1929. She worked for a time at the Skiff Memorial hospital at Newton, then became night supervisor at the Grinnell Community hospital. For sometime she has been doing special nursing.

Mr. Ohland is an ambitious man of the Sheridan community. He is a veteran of the World war, a member of the American Legion of Malcom and also a member of the K.P. lodge. Mr. Ohland has spent practically all his life farming and is very successful at this occupation.

Mr. and Mrs. Ohland will be at home to their many friends on the Mrs. Matilda Reimer's farm in Sheridan township after March 15 where numerous relatives and friends will extend congratulations and best wishes.
