PRETTY CHRISTMAS WEDDING.
Happy Union of Two Fine Poweshiek Young People.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur S. Coop, southeast of Grinnell, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on December 25, 1918, when their daughter, Miss Verna M. Coop, was united in marriage with Bert F. Wells.

At six o'clock, the bridal party, preceded by Rev. W.W. Woodburn, the officiating clergyman, descended the stairway to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March, and took their places beneath a canopy of pink and white, banked with potted plants. Here in the presence of the nearest relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties, the impressive words which made them husband and wife, were said.

The bride was charmingly gowned in a white pussy willow taffeta, made with pearl and bead trimmings, and carried a bouquet of pink bridal roses.

The rooms were tastefully decorated with pink and white, roses and white bells being much in evidence. The same colors were predominant in the three-course dinner which was later served by Miss Alta McLean and Master Lewis Lineweaver, cousins of the bride, assisted by Mr. H.J. Maurer. Mrs. Boyd Lineweaver presided in the kitchen. An intersting feature of the dinner was the cutting of the bride's cake.

The bride is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Coop and possesses many womanly and charming traits. She graduated from Grinnell high school with the class of 1917, since which time she has been at the home of her parents.

Mr. Wells is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wells of Montezuma. He is an industrious young farmer, capable and highly respected by those who know him.

Mr. and Mrs. Wells will take a honeymoon trip to various points in the state till March first, after which date they will be at home to their friends on the farm northwest of Montezuma known as the old Gross farm.

Those who attended the wedding from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Lineweaver and son, Louis, of Havre, Montana; Mrs. Harold Bryan and son, from Brighton, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wells and son, of Montezuma; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wells, Malcom, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Maurer, Mechanicsville, Iowa.
