WEDDING DAY IS ANNOUNCED

The following account, taken from the Phoenix, Arizona, Republic, bears a great deal of interest to local people as it concerns the future marriage of Lloyd Norris, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Norris, and one of Grinnell's fine young men who left here about a year ago to make his home in Phoenix.

"The date of the coming marriage of Miss Martha Jean Staples, daughter of Mrs. Hallie Staples and sister of Mrs. Eugene S. Lee, to Lloyd J. Norris was announced as September 3 at a luncheon given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Lee in her lovely home, 79 East Mariposa street.

"The luncheon table was laid with a beautiful embroidered cloth and set with yellow china. Yellow flowers centered the table and candelbra holding green, white and yellow tapers were arranged at each end of the table. Green and yellow crepe paper streamers radiated from the chandelier to nut cups and place cards at the guests' plates.

"Bingo was the diversion of the afternoon.

"Gifts of linen were presented the honoree from fourteen guests who shared the courtesy.

"The bride-elect is a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and an employee of the Valley National Bank.

"Mr. Norris, who came to Phoenix from Grinnell, Ia., about a year ago, was graduted from high school in Grinnell. He is now associated with Herb Bland's.

"The nuptial rites will be solemnized at 8 a.m. Sunday, September 3, in the Central Methodist Church by the Rev. James B. Curry. Miss Samuels and Milburn Staples will be the attendants."
