RIVERS-STEELE AND WATSON REUNION

The 17th annual Rivers-Steele reunion, to which this year the Watson name has been added, took place Sunday at the home of Mrs. J.R. Steele, near Montezuma. This is one of the largest reunions held during the summer and 86 relatives, for the most part from Poweshiek county, were in attendance.

Following the noon-day picnic dinner, the following officers were re-elected for another year: Irvan James, president; Mabel Olcott, vice-president; Lucile James, secretary-treasurer. A business meeting was presided over by the president.

The following program, read by Audrey Rivers, was presented: Opening Prayer, Fred Tish; "America," by entire group; Address of Welcome, Raymond Swangel; Response, Mrs. D.M. Roberts; Accordion Solo, Jewell Hindman; Historical Sketch of the Name and Family of Rivers, Garnette Steele Wheeler; Reading, Mrs. Boget; Talk and Prayer, Rev. Matthew S. Elleck, pastor of the Little Mount Baptist Church; Reading of Letter from O. Steele, Mabel Olcott; Prayer, Harley Johnson.

Greetings were sent to Farrel Rivers, Leo James and Marion Miller, all of whom are in training camps.

Olcott, Jo Ann and Kathryn Olcott, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olcott and Mabel, Mr. and Mrs. David Adams and Roberta, Mr. and Mrs. George Webber, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rivers, Audrey and Elizabeth, Mr. and Mrs. Denver Caldwell and Olive, Verda and Vergie Tish, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tablet and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Snider, Maxine and Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Breese and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tish.
