John Elmer Bortell and Miss Kate Swanson were united in marriage by the Rev. J.M. McClelland at the Methodist parsonage last Wednesday evening at half past seven. They will begin house keeping immediately at their home on Center street formerly known as the A.J. Neely home where they will be at home to their many friends. Both of the young people are deserving of the fullest measure of happiness. Mr. Bortell is a substantial young man, being at present an efficient clerk in the employ of Rinefort Bros. He is a young man of steady habits and high character. Miss Swanson is a most capable young lady and has been a successful dress maker, with many patrons in Grinnell and the vicinity. She will make a worthy partner for her husband and we are glad to join in the congratulations which are worthily bestowed on them by their many friends.
