GILBERT-TALBERT

A pretty but quiet wedding which occurred at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. H.V. Griffith, yesterday at 12:30 o'clock was that of Miss May Gilbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Gilbert, and Mr. Harold Talbert of Albia. To the strains of Mendelssohns Wedding March, played by Mrs. J.L. Heisel, cousin of the bride, the bridal party descended the stairs and took their places in a beautifully decorated arch. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. W.W. Woodburn in the presence of twenty-five relatives and a few intimate friends. An unusual incident which does not occur very often was the fact that the same minister and witnesses were those who married and witnessed the wedding ceremony of the bride's father and mother. The bride was dressed in yellow organdie and carried a bride's bouquet. The color scheme of yellow and white was carried out in the decorations and dinner. Following congratulations a sumptuous three-course dinner was served by Mrs. Griffith assisted by Mrs. J.L. Heisel, Mrs. L.J. Sampson and Miss Edith Gilbert. The guests found their places by small paper brides used as place cards. The table was beautifully decorated with yellow nut cups and the bride's cake was the center of attraction. The bride is a charming young woman and loved by all who know her. She has made her home in and near Grinnell all of her life and has many friends who wish her much joy. Mr. Talbert is a young man of exemplary character, and is a promising young farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Talbert will be at home after March 1 on a farm eight miles south of town, where their home is all ready for occupancy.
