Grinnell (IA) Herald; Feb. 18, 1898

--Wednesday, at high noon, occurred the marriage of Miss Nellie G. Beatty and Mr. Joseph M. Jacobs of Montezuma. The ceremony was performed at the pleasant home of the bride's mother in this city, by Rev. E.C. Brooks, pastor of the M.E. church of Montezuma. After the beautiful ritual ceremony of the Methodist Episcopal church had been pronounced and congratulations extened the guests partook of an elegant wedding dinner. The bride wore a blue silk with white silk trimings. The groom wore conventional black. None but relatives and a few intimate friends were present. The bride grew to womanhood among us, she is a young lady of culture and refinement and will take into this new relation those qualities of mind and heart that make home the dearest place on earth. The groom is a bright, industrious young man of reputable character and stands well in the community where he is best known. He is from an excellent family and is in every way deserving of the young woman whom he now calls wife. A large circle of friends will extend hearty and sincere congratulations over this important and interesting event. A Guest.
