Hi Gail. How interesting. I wish I knew more. I can tell you something that I did forget. The oldest child Melvin was age 14, then Mildred was 12 and the youngest, Wilma was either 7 or 9 in 1930. Through my research I found one family in Atchison Co. MO with a father named Melvin who had a son James that would fit the age bracket. I do not know yet if this is my James or not but it could be since James named a son Melvin. I wish I could find out more about the James Wooton who was a helper at the Midwest cafe in 1929. Keep me in mind should you ever hear anything else that might sound helpful. These children were supposed to have been born in Pot. Co. IA but I had someone look and there were no births for them. I noticed that there was a Melvin Wooton who died in Freemont Co. and is buried there and wonder if this is the Melvin I found in Atchison Co. MO. Its a real mystery. Thanks for getting back to me.
