Burial records before 1880

I have an ancestor that died in Macedonia, Pottawatamie County in 1872. Is there a way to find death/burial records for her? Obituary?
Name is Rhoda E. Cummings Winegar died 3 Oct 1872. Her husband Samuel Thomas Winegar died 12 Jun 1874 but no location is given.
