Ira Earl Palmer signed his World War I registration on June 5, 1917, stating he lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, was born April 21, 1889 in Magnolia, and was self-employed selling buttermilk; he had a wife and 3 children.
Magnolia, Iowa, is in Harrison County. It appears that your Ira Earl Palmer went by Earl quite often. He is in the 1920 census for Pott. Co., Iowa, on 20 January, 476 State Street, as:
Earl I. Palmer, 31, b. IA, father b. IA, mother b. KY, merchant grocer (I'm assuming this is him?)
Lulu Palmer, 31, b. IA, father b. Denmark
Donald Palmer, 11, son, b. IA
