According to an old family Bible, my great grandmother May Caroline Pate gave birth to a son, George Calvin Pate on 9 March 1891 in Potawatomie, Honey Creek, Iowa. She had a child, David Elliot Pate who was born 9 March 1888 in Harrison Magnolia, Iowa, but passed away on 29 December 1896 while the family may have still been living in Potawatomie County Iowa. Our family has no record of who the father of May Caroline Pate's children was. The Bible list four children, first, my grandmother, Mary Lucinda Pate, both 6 Dec 1882 in either Manchester Delaware Iowa or Blair Washington Nebraska. The second child Willis Edmond Pate was born 6 October 1884 in Harrison Magnolia Iowa. I have already provided the names of the last two children, David Elliot and George Calvin, who are listed in the Bible.
