Three boys, Roy and William McClelland, brothers, 12 and 14 years old, respectively, and William Shawler, 14, were hunting in the timber near Council Bluffs Monday. Roy McClellan was at the foot of a hill and his two companions were at the top. The elder McClelland boy tripped over a tree branch, his gun was exploded, and the shot entered the shoulder of his younger brother, killing him almost instantly.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1901 and died Oct. 18, 1913. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery.
