Mrs. Charles Hendrie [Leaticia] the venerable mother of Mr. Charles Hendrie, of the Council Bluffs Iron Works, died in Pacific City Monday last at the advanced age of 88 years. Mrs. Hendrie, whose home was in Connecticut, had been on a visit to her son James S. Hendrie, of Pacific City, for some months past, where she was taken sick and died. Mrs. Hendrie, although she had passed the allotted “three score years and ten,” maintained the full possession of her facilities until a month or two since, and also up to that time managed in person her business affairs. The funeral will occur at Pacific City at 2 o’clock this afternoon from her son’s residence.[Buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Mills County, Iowa]
