Elsie L. Killpack (1919-2014)

Elsie Lucille Killpack, age 95, formerly of Neola, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Elsie was born on the family farm in rural Portsmouth, Iowa, on March 9, 1919, to William D. and Elsie (McKeighan) Oloff. She graduated from Logan High School and taught school. Elsie was united in marriage to Arthur F. Killpack in Seneca, Kan., on September 23, 1939, and together farmed and raised their children. Elsie was a longtime member of Neola Presbyterian Church and was active in their circles. She was a wonderful cook and baker of Angel Food Cakes and Fried Chicken. She participated in the OBJ Club, card club and enjoyed her family.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur in 2010; sons-in-law, Wendell Barrier, Dan Talty and Les Harman; twin sister, Edith Arbaugh; sister, Marie Hammett; and brothers, Bill and Gary Oloff.

Survivors include daughters, Korlys Talty, of Neola, Iowa and Bev Harman, of Spencer, Iowa; sons, Frank Killpack and wife, Eileen, Cliff Killpack, and wife, Cathy, all of Neola; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters; brother, Lyle Oloff, of Missouri Valley, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Visitation Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Neola Presbyterian Church. Funeral Thursday, 11 a.m., also at the church. Pastor Dean Sparr, Officiant.

Luncheon will follow in the church hall with interment to follow at the Grange Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Neola Presbyterian Church and Neola Fire & Rescue.
