AN OLD SETTLER GONE

Mr. John Smith, an old and respected citizen of this community, died on the 31st last, after an illness of three days. Mr. Smith, we learn, was ninety-four years of age, and up to the time of his illness, was almost daily to be seen on our streets, driving team, hauling wood and performing various other kinds of labor, with about as much expertness as a man of forty. His funeral sermon was preached at the M. _. Church, on Sunday last. Peace to his ashes.
