Mrs. Alice M. Merino
(Feb 2, 1925 - November 1972), age 47, of 3114 Third Ave., died Thursday at a Council Bluffs hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Glenwood and moved to Council Bluffs 14 years ago from Duluth, Minnesota. Mrs. Merino graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1943, was a supervisor for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Omaha, a member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, it's Altar and Rosary Society, the Bell Boosters Club and Ak-Sar-Ben. Survivors include: husband, Carl F. Merino; two sons David of California, Michael, at home; two daughters; Michelle and Penny Lee, both at home; mother Mrs. Ethel Perdue of Atlantic; sister, Miss Bernice Perdue of Des Moines, and three grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Apostles Church. The Rev. Richard E Gubbles will be celebrant. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Rosary recitation will be a 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Beem-Belford Chapel.
