Joan Lee Carrubba, age 85, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Council Bluffs, passed away October 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Villa in Omaha. Joan was born January 11, 1923, in Council Bluffs, to the late Damiano and Maria (Pistacchia) Carrubba. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1941. Joan worked at Mutual of Omaha from 1948-1983. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Fannie Carrubba and Grace Amato; brothers, Martin, Sam, Joseph, Carl and Charles. She was very devoted to her family.
Joan is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and sister-in-law, Vera Carrubba of Council Bluffs.
Rosary recitation, Sunday, 2 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 4 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Monday, 9:30 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. David Fleming officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials to the Micah House or Salvation Army preferred.
