Francis R. "Frank" Pogge

Francis R. "Frank" Pogge, age 84, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 24, 2011, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Frank was born October 3, 1927, in Neola, Iowa, to the late Alfred and Cecelia "Sadie" (Meierotto) Pogge. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Neola and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Frank retired from Griffin Pipe in 1991 after 33 years of service. He also owned and operated the West End Lounge. Frank was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs and the Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Pogge, in 1992; daughter, Karen Skow; grandson, Nickolas Pogge; and brothers, John, Jim and Louis Pogge.

Frank is survived by his longtime partner, Lucinda Harmon; sons, Randy (Brenda) Pogge, all of Council Bluffs, Chris (Reyna) Pogge, of Carter Lake, Iowa; daughters, Debbie Myers, of Council Bluffs, Sandy (Ray) Hiykel, Kathy (Sherman) Graves; all of Omaha, Neb., Angie (Randy) Slack, of Underwood, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; extended family, Sarah Clark, Ralph Harmon III, Keith Harmon and Ann Woods.

Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral Mass, Thursday, 10 a.m., in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Neola, Iowa, with Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa, pastor as the celebrant.

Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Neola with military rites tendered by Neola American Legion Post #330.

A Lunch will follow at the Eagles Club in Council Bluffs.
