Alta A. Kaczor, 72, of Council Bluffs died May 29 at home.

She was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Silver City to George and Mary (Batten) Ord. She previously lived in Silver City and Omaha, moving to Council Bluffs in 1963.

She graduated from high school and beauty school. She was a beauty operator at the Blackstone Hotel for 10 years and then worked out of her home for two years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church; the Altar & Rosary Society.

Mrs. Kaczor and her husband, Tony, were married 48 years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include son, Steve Kaczor, of Council Bluffs; daughters, Marcia Soe and husband, Troy, and Mary Matuszeski and husband, John, all of Omaha; four grandchildren, Tara and Brandon Soe, Nathan and Jenna Matuszeski; three sisters, Lois Linter and husband, Marvin, of South Carolina, Marie Wickman and husband, Virgil, of Security, Colo., Margaret Smith and husband, Richard, of San Diego; four brothers, Don Ord, Jim Ord and wife, Maxine, of Glenwood, Jerry Ord and wife, Lucille, of Silver City and Harvey Ord and wife, Ilene, of Council Bluffs.

Wake service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. followed by visitation until 4:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. John O. Bertogli officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following at St. Patrick's Parish Hall.

Memorials may be offered to St. Patrick's Church.
