Mass of Christian burial for Marie C. Rager, 92, of Austin, Texas, will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Ken Gross officiating.

Mrs. Rager died May 31 in Austin.

She was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Council Bluffs to William D. and M. Beatrice Brock. She lived in Council Bluffs 92 years, moving to Austin in March. She worked for Greenberg Optical for 17 years and then joined the purchasing department at Creighton University where she retired after 17.5 years at the age of 72. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Altar & Rosary, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Martin's Mission and she was a Creighton University Jaybacker. She volunteered at Mercy Hospital in the X-ray department for many years. She also volunteered with the Mercy Guild.

Mrs. Rager was preceded in death by her husband, C. Everett Rager, in 1947. They were married 17 years. She was also preceded by her parents and brother.

Survivors include two sons, Charles "Bunny" Rager and wife, Shirley, of Austin and Donald "Joe" Rager and wife, Freda, of Wailea, Hawaii; grandchildren, Joseph and Julie Rager; great-grandchild, Ashley; former daughter-in-law, Judith; eight step-grandchildren; 23 step great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Beatrice "Babe" Brock Cunningham and Dorothy Brock Grazier, both of the Denver area; nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be tonight at 6:30 with visitation to follow until 8:30 at Holy Family Church. The body will be at the church after 5 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Holy Family.

Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
