Joe S. Pavich
The funeral Mass for Jos S. Pavich, 78, of Council Bluffs will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Ray McHenry officiating.
Mr. Pavich died May 9 in Council Bluffs.
He was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Council Bluffs to Guy and Josephine Pavich and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years. He was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreigh Wars Post No. 737 and the Machinist Union.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Daneff and husband, Joe, and Katie Self, all of Omaha; a brother Emil of Council Bluffs; a brother-in-law, Carl Ulmer of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
A wake service will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post No. 2. A luncheon at the church will follow.
Memorials may be offered to Holy Family Church or St. Albert Schools.
