Jennie A. Fiegen, 94, Of Dell Rapids, died Monday, Dec 6, 1993, at the Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids. Jennie Anderson was born Jan 4, 1899, at Neola, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Mary Anderson. She grew up in Neola, Iowa, and in 1908 at the age of 10 she moved with her parents to Dell Rapids. She attended country school east of Dell Rapids. She was married to John Fiegen on December 29, 1925, at Dell Rapids. They made their home in the Colman and Ward area and in 1944 they moved to a farm near Dell Rapids. They retired from farming in 1964 when they moved into Dell Rapids. Mr. Fiegen died in 1971. She moved to Terrace Manor Nursing Home, Dell Rapids, in 1979 and lived there until the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Chruch and Altar Society

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and four grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Melvin and his wife, Dolores of Dell Rapids and Virgil and his wife, Shirley of Bellflower, Ca; three daughter, Mrs. Earl (Joyce) Richter of Canton, Mrs. Terry (Dorothy) Baumberger of Colton, and Mrs. James (Helen) Liester of Garretson; 31 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren. mass of the Resurrection was held on Wednesday December 8, 1993, at 2PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dell Rapids, Father Hal Barber was the celebrant.

Interment was at the St. Mary's Cemetery.

There was a Christian wake service Tuesday evening at 8:30PM at the Kahler Funeral Home, Dell Rapids. Casket bearers were Wayne Liester, Pat Baumberger, Jeff Fiegen, John Fiegen, Ran Richter and Paul Liester.
