CRESCENT - Helen L. Kreft, 88, a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs, died June 12 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.She was born in Council Bluffs to Carl F. and Christina (Thompsen) Clausen Sept. 15, 1914, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1935.
She retired as a clerk for Tallman-Scheel Insurance Company.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, Insurance Women of Council Bluffs and Women's Fellowship at her church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Kreft, in 1976.
She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Beaver of Council Bluffs, and Carol Smith and husband, Warren, of Crescent; a son, Wayne Kreft and wife, Colleen, of Council Bluffs; a sister, Dorothy "Jean" Redinbaugh of Neola; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with the Rev. G. Dean Goebel officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery.
Memorial may be offered to First Congregational Church.
