Mary V. Colpitts, age 92, of Neola, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Jennie Edmundson.

She was born, June 16, 1918, in Council Bluffs, to Bernard and Violet Kramer Spitznagle and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She also attended Junior College and married Thomas F. Colpitts on February 6, 1945. Mary served as the Parish Secretary at St. Patrick's Church in Neola, for many years and also belonged to the Alter and Rosary Society there and attended her weekly Bible Study, and volunteered at Mercy Hospital.

Mary's husband Tom passed away in 1972, and she continued to raise her 12 children. She will be remembered as a kind, generous and sweet mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mary is also preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Violet Spitznagle; daughters, Michelle Colpitts and Mary Meyerring; and brothers, Bill, Bernie, John, Leo and Father Charles Spitznagle SJ.

Survivors include children and spouses; son-in-law, Gene Meyerring, Marty Randall (Chad), Tom Colpitts (Kathy), Joe Colpitts (Wanda), Greg Colpitts (Theresa), Bernie Colpitts (Joni), Geri Bjorling (Mark), Monica "Twig" Beuterbaugh (John Dukes), Chris "Conna" Colpitts (Cindy), Pete Colpitts (Kristen), Rick Colpitts (Kim); 38 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rosary recitation Wednesday 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., at St. Patrick's Church, in Neola.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10:30 a.m., also at St. Patrick's, Neola.

Interment Neola Iowa with a luncheon to follow back at church.

Family will direct memorials. Mary's children would like to say, thanks a million.
