The funeral for Evelyn V. McMullen, 86, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Broadway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Arnpriester officiating, with a lunch immediately following the service in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. McMullen died April 29 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Omaha. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1935. She graduated in 1935 from Omaha Technical High School and in 1939 from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and was the supervisor of the OB Department at Mercy Hospital. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 1981 after 35 years of service. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Twilighters and Mercy Hospital Alumnae Association.

Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D., in 1992.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Smith and husband, John, of Council Bluffs, Patricia Lee and husband, Gary, of Georgetown, Texas; one son, Dean McMullen and wife, Debby, of Marshalltown; four grandchildren, Bart and Tony Lee, Jennifer and Patrick McMullen; one great-granddaugther, Janea McMullen.

Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Crescent Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Mercy Hospital Foundation or Broadway Methodist's Donald D. and Evelyn V. McMullen Scholarship Fund.
