05/03/2003OMAHA - Elinor R. McGruder, 73, of Omaha, formerly of Council Bluffs, a died May 1, 2003 at Alegent Health Bergen Mercy Hospital.
She was born Dec. 8, 1929, to Charles and Mary (Haines) Conger in Silver City. She graduated from Malvern High School in 1947.
She was an office clerk at Mutual of Omaha for 25 years before retiring in 1993, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. McGruder, in 2000.
She is survived by a son, William C. and wife Suzann of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Betty Conger of Avoca; and a brother, Robert Conger of Surprise, Ariz.
The wake will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Ken Gross officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with a luncheon following at the church.
Memorials may be offered to St. Albert Schools or the American Cancer Society.
