Harold E. Jager Sr.

The funeral for Harold E. Jager Sr., 75, of Council Bluffs will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hollers of Southside Christian Church officiating.

Mr. Jager died April 27 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

He was born May 1, 1927, in Council Bluffs to John and Wilma (Hohl) Jager. He was a traffic tech for the city of Council Bluffs for 24 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that he worked for Union Pacific Railroad 10 years as a mail handler. He was of the Christian faith and a former member of Eagles Club.

Mr. Jager and his wife, Della (Lovelady), were married Feb. 10, 1948.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Betti J. Martin and husband, Mike, of Glenwood and Sherri Lorey and husband, Jason, of Council Bluffs; three sons, Harold E. Jager Jr. and wife, Gail, Richard D. Jager and wife, Sherry, all of Walnut and Ron Jager of Audubon; two brothers, Donald Jager and wife, Beverly, and Johnny Jager and wife, Lillian, all of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Southside Christian.
