Carl B. Jepsen

Carl B. Jepsen, 84, of Council Bluffs, died April 19 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born on July 13, 1918, in Marne to John and Christian (Bendixen). He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1937.

He served in the Army in North Africa and Italy from 1942-45 and was a salesman for Searle Petroleum and Red Giant Oil for 43 years. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Jepsen and his wife, LaVonne (Soe) were married 62 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife are two sons, Duane of Council Bluffs and Gary and wife, Mary, of Omaha; three granddaughters, Angela, Amy and Kelly; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Darlene Anderson of Upton, Ky., Barbara Fryzek of Glenwood and Margaret Soe of Omaha.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Delwayne Hahn officiating. A luncheon will be held at the church prior to leaving for the cemetery. Burial will be in Elkhorn with military rites at the grave.

Memorials may be offered to Our Savior's Church and Food Pantry.
