Margaret Lea Smith

Margaret Lea Smith, 81, of Council Bluffs died April 25 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born in Oakland and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1939. She was a homemaker and also worked as a ticket seller at Playland Park for several years.

She volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; three daughters, Suzanne Grego, Kathryn Wise and husband LeeRoy and Connie Rothermund and husband Ronnie, all of Council Bluffs; three sons, Ronald and wife Mary, Dennis and wife Nancy and John and wife Jessica, all of Council Bluffs; a sister, Mildred Riedinger of Council Bluffs; daughters-in-law Linda Smith of Lancaster, Calif., and Julie Barr of Council Bluffs; 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. G.E. Fogelman officiating.

Burial will be at Crescent Cemetery in Crescent.
