Warren K. Bowers

Warren K. Bowers, age 77, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away July 9, 2010 at his home.

Warren was born March 10, 1933 in Lincoln, Nebraska, to the late Keith and Katherine (Paul) Bowers. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951 and attended UNO for 3 years. Warren served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He married Helen Zimmerman and to this union five children were born, Richard, Mark, Sue, Brian and Christopher.

Warren worked as an electrician for 40+ years at Industrial Electric Motors, retiring in 1995. After his first wife, Helen, passed away in 1993, Warren married Beverly Jean Rockwell-Tingley on September 20, 1999. Warren was a member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus Council #10805; IBEW Local #22 for 50+ years and was very active for many years in the St. Albert High School Booster Club.

He was preceded in death by his great granddaughters, Ashlee and Katelyn Nelson; and brother-in-law, Robert Roenfeld.

Warren is survived by his wife of 10 years, Beverly Bowers, of Council Bluffs; daughter, Sue Welbourne and husband, Mark, of Neola, Iowa; sons, Rick Bowers and wife, Michele, Mark Bowers and wife, Janet, Chris Bowers, all of Omaha, Brian Bowers and wife, Lyn, of Council Bluffs; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sister, Karen Roenfeld, of Bella Vista, Ark.; stepson, James Tingley and wife, Robin, of Denver, Colo.; 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandsons.

Prayer service, Monday, 6 p.m., followed by a visitation with the family until 8 p.m. at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 3304 4th Ave. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the church with Rev. Dan Kirby, Pastor as the celebrant.

Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following at the church hall. Memorials may be made to St. Albert Educational Foundation or Hospice with Heart.
