Dorothy J. Stroud

The funeral for Dorothy J. (Benton) Stroud, 78, of Council Bluffs will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer- Woodring Funeral Home with elder Tom Arnold of the Community of Christ Church officiating.

Mrs. Stroud died April 15 at home.

She was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Council Bluffs to Eldridge Benton and Effie H. Epperson. She was a 1944 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Community of Christ Church where she taught Sunday school for 47 years. She was a life member of that church.

Mrs. Stroud was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, in 1995, and her son, Larry, in 1989.

Survivors include her sister, Jeanette Davis, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.

Memorials may be offered to Community of Christ Church.
