Esther W. Rich, age 94, of Council Bluffs, passed away June 3, 2010, at Risen Son Nursing Home.

She was born February 6, 1916, in Council Bluffs, to the late Herman and Bertha (Eckland) Rodenburg.

She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1934. Esther lived in Neola, Iowa, for much of her life before moving to Council Bluffs in 1976. While in Neola, Esther worked at Schierbrock
Department Store for many years and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Esther was preceded in death by husbands, Donald L. Ring, in 1974, and Mark C. Rich, in 1994; son, Jerry Ring in 2003; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her son, Donald Ring and wife, Judy,of Neola; 13 grandchildren, 21 great Grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Ring, of Neola; many nieces and nephews.

Prayer Service, Sunday, 5 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 7 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Neola. Mass of
Christian Burial, Monday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa, pastor as the celebrant.

Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery with a lunch following in the parish hall. Memorials to the
church or Hospice of SWI preferred.
