Beryl Kasch

Beryl Kasch, 81, of Council Bluffs, and formerly of Red Oak, died April 4 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1921, in Montgomery County to Elmer and Flora Mae (Johnson) Kasch. She graduated from Elliott High School in 1940 and began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Elliott. Later, she moved to Red Oak where she worked for the phone company until the late 1960s when she moved with the company to Council Bluffs. She retired in 1976.

She was a member of the Pilot Grove United Methodist Church and the Pioneers, who are retirees from the phone company. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and babysitting her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bette DeWitt; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Thielen and Dale DeWitt.

Survivors include two sisters, Marilyn Kahler and husband, William, of Minden and Marjorie Thielen of Omaha; one brother, Gordon Kasch and wife, Ellie, of Minden; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends.

There will be an open visitation at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the chapel with the Rev. Gordon Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Elliott.

Memorials are suggested to Pilot Grove United Methodist Church.
