Charlotte S. Hayes

Charlotte S. Hayes, 76, of Omaha died March 29 at Hospice House in Omaha. She was born in Warren, Ark., and was employed as a surgical technician at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital and several other area hospitals.

She was a member of the Council Bluffs Order of the Eastern Star No. 441, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 441 Ladies Auxiliary, 50-year member Royal Neighbors of America, Christian Clown Club, Nebraska Kidney Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jim Hayes; two daughters, Charlotte Ann Study and husband, Danny, of Council Bluffs, Jeannine Kay Thompson and husband, T. Michael, of Alexandria, Minn.; a son, James E. Hayes and wife, Kay, of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Mary Bazzano of Lincoln, Neb., H. Ann Gorgen and husband, Bill, of Twin Falls, Idaho; a brother, Samuel R. Beard and wife, Marilyn Reid, of Spring, Texas; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild.

Visitation with family will be at 7 p.m. Monday at McCurdy Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dodge Memorial with the Rev. Jeff Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.

Memorials may be offered to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Kidney Foundation and Hospice House.
