Sam [Salvatore] Bonfante
Died: 4 October 1957

Sam Bonfante, 78, 1009 Second Ave., died Friday at a local hospital after a long illness.

A native of Italy [sic, Mussomeli, Sicily], he had been a Council Bluffs resident 44 years.

He was a retired coach cleaner of the Chicago and North Western Railroad, a member of St. Francis Church, Moose Lodge, and Marconi Society. He was a member of the National Association of Veteran Railway Employees and the Brotherhood of Railway Cormen of America.

Survivors include: widow, Josephine; three sons, Joseph, Charles and Vincent, all of Council Bluffs; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Kilgore of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Virginia Phillips of Coronado, Calif., and Mrs. LaVerne Colley of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Mrs. Kenneth Garbett of Des Moines; and 11 grandchildren.

Beem-Belford Funeral Home is in charge.
