In Memory: Lucile R. Sheils

The funeral for Lucile Rose Sheils, 89, of Florence Home in Omaha was held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sheils died March 1 at the home.

She was born October 9, 1913, in Cheney, Kansas, to Albert and Lilly (Oliver) Hopkins. She previously lived in McClelland, moving to Omaha 1 1/2 years ago. She was a nutrition technician at Jennie Edmundson Hospital for eight years, retiring in 1987.

Mrs. Sheils was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L., in 1968 and a son, Thomas E. Sheils, in 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Cherry and husband, Alvin and Patricia Underwood, all of Omaha; two grandsons, Edward Underwood of Omaha and Todd Underwood of Apache Junction, Arizona; a brother, Everett Hopkins, of Towner, Colorado; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hardin Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association.
