In Memory: Welma Schroeder

Funeral services were held for Welma L. Schroeder, 89, of Westminster, Colorado, and formerly of the Treynor and Harlan areas.

She died October 25 at The Retreat at Church Ranch in Westminster.

Burial was at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Treynor.

Mrs. Schroeder was born February 16, 1912 in Minden to John and Lena (Simpson) Heesch. She married Arno H. Schroeder on October 4, 1933. She was a homemaker and was a resident of Treynor until 1967 before moving to Colorado. In 1988, she returned to the Treynor and Harlan areas. She returned to Colorado in 1996.

While living in Treynor, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was active in its Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1990.

Survivors include one son, Darrel and wife, Lavina, of Westminster; three daughters, Charlene Shaw of Oakland; Jan Luedecker and husband, Marc, of Council Bluffs; Lagene Harris and husband, Russ, of Santa Cruz, California; one brother, Raymond Heesch and wife, Carol, of Harlingen, Texas; one sister, Tillie Engel of Avoca; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
